THE HOTEL: Just moments from Piazza Navona, the Hotel Rione Ponte is an art guesthouse in the center of Rome. The hotel is situated on the second floor of a historic palazzo, which has a lift and overlooks the Stadio di Domiziano. It opened in 2014 and has 9 double rooms with large windows, a breakfast room with ceramics signed by the designer Patricia Urquiola, a lounge with sofas, and a library. The fascinating peculiarity of the Relais Rione Ponte is that it has been turned into a contemporary art gallery. Guests can admire original paintings and sculptures made by 11 local and international artists which are on display in the rooms and in the public areas and which change every 6 months. The charming boutique relais is perfect for a  family holiday as well as a romantic escape.

THE OWNER: The Relais Rione Ponte is run by Laura and Silvia. They have been friends for many years and worked in some of the top luxury hotels in Rome before they decided to open their own Relais, offering the same 5-star service! Multi-lingual, they can speak English, Spanish, French, and German. Their staff, experts in art and history,  go out of their way to make the guests feel at home, offering exceptional personalized service, and providing lots of precious information.

THE ROOMS: Although in the center of Rome, the Relais is a peaceful haven. The 9 air-conditioned rooms have LCD TVs, a fully stocked minibar and a courtesy set for tea and coffee. The rooms have comfy beds with hypoallergenic mattress and foam pillows. They have modern wood furnishings - rigorously 'made in Italy' - Flos lamps and oak parquet floors. Each room has a private bathroom with a hairdryer and Damana toiletries are provided. Relais Rione Ponte has only one large suite (38sqm) which can host up to 2 extra beds. All the rooms have soundproof windows and views of the surrounding streets (only one faces the internal courtyard).  


THE FOOD: Breakfast is freshly prepared every morning with top quality products both savory and sweet. Tea/coffee, fruit, and cookies are available 24hrs/day. An aperitif is also offered.

THE ICING ON THE CAKE: At Relais Rione Ponte you can buy every piece of art you find in their permanent hotel gallery if you wish!

LOCATION: The location of this guesthouse is fantastic, as you are moments from Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, and the River Tiber. Via de' Coronari, popular for its antique shops, is at your fingertips. The bus can whisk you to St. Peter's Square and the Coliseum in 15 minutes. It is a 10-minutes by foot to the lively Trastevere district. If needed, there is a taxi stand across the street.

WHAT TO SEE AND DO: Besides the must-see sites of Rome, be sure to visit the catacombs and go on a bike ride along the Appian Way. Both activities are excellent for families. You can also spend a day on the coast and visit the ancient Roman port of Ostia Antica. In Castelli try the traditional Ariccia ham with the local pecorino cheese and of course a glass of the local wine Frascati.

GOOD TO KNOW: Close to the Relais Rione Ponte there are many popular bars and restaurants. Sant'Eustachio Bar serves the best espresso in the city. If you have something to celebrate, dine at La Rosetta, a top restaurant for special occasions. At Gusto Pizzeria to can tuck into a deep-based Neapolitan Margherita or a Montecarlo or Baffetto, if you prefer the thin Roman pizza. A must for an aperitif is the trendy Piazza Campo de'Fiori, which is lively and youthful.
