The traditional stone-house hosts a beautiful 5-bedroom villa, full of charm, on a romantic estate near Syracuse in Sicily. The pool is on your doorstep and you’ll spend your days basking in the Sicilian sunshine roaming the villa’s Mediterranean garden, barbecuing freshly caught fish and vegetables, and playing table tennis with your children. Alternate days of full relaxation and days to explore Syracuse and the unique baroque villages of southeast Sicily, Mount Etna, and trendy hilltop Taormina.
THE VILLA sits on a large single floor. The open living area hosts sofas with Sat Tv and a fully equipped rustic A/C kitchen, which opens to a covered patio. Boasting a sleek traditional edge, the 3 A/C double and the 2 A/C single bedrooms maintain a homely atmosphere. There are 3 bathrooms, 2 with a shower and 1 with a bathtub. Recently renovated, the elegant villa features exposed wooden ceiling-beams and pastel hues walls, antique furnishings with simple good pieces, as dictated by the Sicilian tradition.
LOCATION: The Villa is located on the South-Eastern coast of Sicily, 3 km from Syracuse, and just 2km away from the nearest sandy beach. Catania airport is at 60km while Comiso Airport is 100 km away.
WHAT TO SEE AND DO: The lovely Syracuse offers so many things to see: the archaeological site with an ancient Greek Theatre; the old city center 'Ortigia' and an incredible fresh market. The area is full of delicious restaurants, trattorias, and bars. Baroque cities of Noto and Scicli are at a short drive and Marzamemi is a picturesque village not to miss. Vendicari natural park offers beautiful walks and bird-watching, including pinkish flamingos before their migration to the African shores. V.I.P. Taormina and Mount Etna are at less than 2hours.
GOOD TO KNOW: You must rent a car to explore the area and the villa has private parking.
