Why choose this tour Amazing views
Capri boat tour departs from the port of Sorrento at 8.45 am and reaches Capri (Marina Grande) after 1 hour. Guests have 3-4 hours to visit the island by themselves before returning to the boat and start the circumnavigation. There are opportunities to swim in the crystal clear water and to admire the amazing Faraglioni Rocks. However, in high season, the tour does not stop at the blue grotto due to the long queue of rocking boats waiting to transfer their passengers to smaller rowing boats, which are the only ones allowed to get in for an extra charge of €14/person. If you are fancy to go to the Blu grotto you can take a taxi/bus from Marina Grande to Anacapri and take the rowing boat from there (but be aware that swimming inside is not allowed). The boat returns to Sorrento around 5 pm.
THE LOCATION: Popular for its amazing rocky landscape, Capri is a tourist island in the Bay of Naples which attracts up to 60000 visitors on a typical summer day. The lively area around the piazzetta features the best of Italian fashion shopping and the most expensive restaurants. On the upper part, Anacapri maintains a more authentic atmosphere with little artisanal shops along the tiny pedestrian streets. Beautiful is the path from the piazzetta to Punta Tragara with dramatic views over the Faraglioni Rocks! Beautiful is the Blu Grotto where the sea is turned into a blue electric color due to the sunlight passing through an underwater cave.
YOUR GUIDE: Salvatore is a friendly local and his family has been in the fishing business for 4 generations. He knows the area very well and likes sharing his secret places and fishing techniques
THE FOOD: Salvatore's Mum freshly prepares traditional recipes with vegetables from her own garden to please guests. Her Parmigiana di Melanzane (a sort of lasagna made with layers of fried aubergine) is a real treat!
MEETING POINT: If you stay in Sorrento, you can ask for the free pick-up normally between 8-8.30 am. Otherwise, you can go directly to the port where the boat leaves at 8.45 am.
THE ICING ON THE CAKE: If you want to test your fishing skills, you can have a go with a professional fishing rod (but there is a little extra to pay)
GOOD TO KNOW: The boat tour is available from April until October, weather permitting.
