The silent ascent in the mystic Hermit Valley (North Puglia) is a must-do excursion for expert adult hikers! The route rewards extraordinarily beautiful views and it's often possible to spot falcons and swallows and to cross one of the 90 species of orchids that grow here. You will discover the caves carved into the rocks where the hermits used to live hundreds of years ago, before reaching Santa Maria di Pulsano Abbey, a silent peaceful oasis that overlooks the Gulf of Manfredonia.

The hiking departs every day from the Hotel Manfredi in Manfredonia village and a minimum of 2 people are required.

Francesco is the local guide, with a passion for hiking and he knows the place like the back of his hands.

Bring your packed lunch and water and wear trekking shoes and a hat (in summer)- a scarf and a waterproof jacket (in winter).
