Tucked away in the verdant hill of Valle dell'Erica, is the Villa Costa Smeralda, cool and calming as you’d expect of an elegant retreat: blonde wood furnishings, beamed ceiling, and comfy couches are the understated backdrops to expansive views of the Archipelago La Maddalena. Spend balmy days stretched out at the white beach, plunging into the turquoise sea or lounging on the sofa on the sea breeze-kissed terrace. When night falls, enjoy a dinner under the stars with a good bottle of Sardinian wine Cannonau.
THE VILLA: the traditional Sardinian stone-house with uplift sea-views features a panoramic terrace with splendid sea-views, a large living room, 4 impeccable bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The fully equipped kitchen opens on a small back garden.
THE OWNER: The villa belongs to friendly Bianca and this is her summer house. She is a lovely hostess and set up the villa with all comforts to please her own family and guests.
THE ROOMS: There are 4 lovely bedrooms, furnished with wrought iron beds.
THE ICING ON THE CAKE: If you are lucky you could admire dolphins jumping in the turquoise water of the archipelago.

WHAT TO SEE AND DO: The coast is plenty of picturesque seaside villages that are worth a visit such as Santa Teresa di Gallura and Palau where the Italian middle class has their summer houses. From Santa Teresa, it's possible to reach Corsica island by ferry and spend a day out in the pretty village of Bonifacio. The area is well known for its beautiful white beaches - the best you can find in Italy - and for sailing and windsurfing. Porto Pollo is the best windsurf location in Italy, with a lot of wind and a flat sea. Head to posh Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo to enjoy the best of Italian jet set.
GOOD TO KNOW: You must rent a car to explore the area.
