Why choose this tour the best local cheese
Find yourself in a typical farmhouse perched on a stretch of land between the sea and the sky which rewards you with spectacular views. Walk in the lemon groves and enjoy a quick ride on the Ape-scooter to reach the stables where local cows are bred. Thanks to a thriving tradition of cheese-making, the farm is the ideal destination for gluttons. The visit starts at 10 am and 4 pm (with pick up in Sorrento 30' before), in time to see the cheese-maker preparing mozzarella or Provolone del Monaco DOP, the region's best-known cheeses. As you watch him stir the curds, drain the whey from the vat and pack the curds into molds, you are told about the history of cheese-making that goes back centuries. To qualify for the 'DOP' mark, the Provolone cheese has to be made following the original process, with at least 20% of milk from the premium Agerolese breed. The experience includes also the preparation of Neapolitan pizza that will be eaten afterward. Impossible to resist!
When: The cheese-making experience is available every day. It starts at 10 am and at 4 pm.
Who: It is suitable for adults and children and can be done as a group experience (max 15 people) or private (min 5 people)
